Forty Narrations regarding the End of Time: near the appearance of Imam Mahdi, May God hasten His reappearance:

Imam Al-Husein peace be with him wanted to liberate the people who were enslaved by the rulers, and therefore the revolution of Imam Al-Husein peace be with himwas launched based on this humanitarian aspect in order to achieve freedom for the entire mankind.

The dimensions of Imam Al-Husein's revolution:
As we read through the narration of Imam Al-Husein peace be with him, we see that when he went out to the battle to fight those who came to fight him, and when he saw his opponents invading the tents of the women, he addressed them saying: "O You the followers of Abu Sifyan, if you do not follow a religion, and if you do not fear the Judgment day, be free in your lives and return to your origins if you were Arabs."
Imam Al-Husein peace be with him raised two issues here. The first is that he laid emphasis to the freedom of man when he said: If you do not abide by religious values and you do not believe in a creed, at least be free. The free man is the one who does not sell himself or his position or opinion in return for money or positions. Do not be slaves, because you are fighting to obey those who enslave you.
The second issue he raised is that Imam peace be with him tried to provoke in them the feelings of Arabism which Islam approved: "Be Arabs", not in terms of the narrow nationalism, but on the basis of the values the Arabs lived, which Islam adopted some of them and eliminated others. This discourse is not addressed to the followers of Abu Sufyan in particular, but to every human being.

On the humanitarian level, we also read his speech when he was asked to give legitimacy to Yazid. He said: "The illegitimate, son of the illegitimate, has settled between two: between unsheathing [the sword] and humiliation, and how impossible is humiliation from us." So it is about being honored in all your life. Imam As-Sadiq peace be with him was quoted as saying upon interpreting the following Quranic verse: "God has the glory and His Prophet and the believers." (63:08) Imam As-Sadiq peace be with him said: "God has allowed the believer to run all his affairs, but he did not authorize him to humiliate himself." Glory is based on power: "The power is wholly Allah's". (02:165). So, to be honorable is to be strong and defending you humanity and freedom.

Then he said: "Do not you see that no one abides by the right and everyone embarks on the wrong?" He is talking about the righteousness which people should abide by, and righteousness is the concept that exists in all the issues of human beings, which ascend his position at the individual, political and social levels.
Therefore, we have to present Ashoura to the entire world in its humanitarian aspect, rather than restricting it to a sectarian aspect because Imam Al-Husein peace be with him is the imam of all Muslims and he obtained his Imamate from Prophet Muhammad (p.) with whom Al-Husein peace be with him lived his early childhood. He also lived with his mother, Sayyeda Az-Zahra and his father Ali peace be with him. So, he enjoyed all the elements and characters of spiritual faith these figures enjoyed. Prophet Muhammad (p.) said: "Husein is from me, and I am from Husein", which reveals the spiritual integration between the Prophet (p.) and Al-Husein peace be with him.

The values of reform in the revolution of Imam Al-Husein peace be with him:
Imam Al-Husein peace be with him said: "I revolted neither for wickedness nor for fame. Verily I rose only to seek for reform in the nation of my grandfather; the messenger of Allah." He did not speak about a certain family or region, but about the entire nation, because he was shouldering the responsibility of the whole nation through his Imamate. "I want to enjoin good and forbid wrong and evil", he said. So, he noticed the deviant situation of the nation, because the rule prevailing at that time damaged the humanitarian aspect of the people who used to love Imam Al-Husein peace be with him and his family, but at the same time, they were fighting to earn money or obtain a certain position in the authority, such as Omar BinSa'ad

Congratulations on the auspicious birth (days) of Imam Husain bin Ali bin Abitalib, Imam Ali Zain-ul Abedin and Hadhrat Ab-ul Fadhlil Abbas (peace be with them) to all Muslims and believers.

They (infallible Leaders) never supported the tyrants instead spoken up against the corrupt leaders, oppressors and their corrupt systems. They are a role models for the followers of faith in Godly values and truth seekers, in sacrifice, resistance for freedom and liberty from ignorance and slavery of desires.

Imam Husain (peace be with him): Do not talk about your brother when he is absent except what you would like him to say about you in your absence.

Imam Ali Zain-ul Abedin (peace be with him) said about his uncle Hadhrat Ab-ul Fadhlil Abbas “may God have mercy with my uncle Abbas. He preferred his brother on himself. He sacrificed himself for his brother until he lost his both hands. Thus instead of his hands, God has given him wings with which he fly in heaven with angles, like Jafar bin Abitalib. On the day of judgement, the blessed and exalted Abbas bin Ali enjoys a rank that all the martyrs will wish similar one.

Imam Ali (peace be with him):

🔸"A man was about to die, writing in his will to divide his 17 camels to his three sons with a 1/2, 1/3, and 1/9 ratio. The men, after being unable to solve brought this matter to Imam Ali (peace be with him):

🔹17 camels needed to be divided amongst 3 people in a 1/2, 1/3, and 1/9 ratio.

✔️Imam Ali solution :
-add a camel to the 17 (now 18).
-Divide 18 by 1/2 =9.
-Divide 18 by 1/3, it's 6.
-Divide 18 by 1/9 it's 2.

✔️Add 9+6+2.. it's 17. The added camel was retracted by the Imam, and the matter was solved".

🌻Imam As-Sadiq (peace be with him) was asked about the commandment(s) of Luqman. He answered:

💠"In the commandment(s) of Luqman for his son, there were marvels. The most marvelous statement of that commandment was his saying to his son:

💠'Fear God in a way, even if you provide the good deeds of both worlds, He will (still) punish (that is, anyone who has done all positive deeds of both worlds yet hadn't had sincerity for God, should be cautious).

💠And have great hope in Him in a way even if you're carrying the sins of both worlds, He will (still) be merciful to you.

🍃Imam As-Sadiq (peace be upon him) then said:

💠'Every believer inevitably has two illuminations in the heart: one is the illumination of fear and the other is the illumination of hope. (It is) such that if one were to weigh this with the other there will be no difference, and if one were to weigh the other with this there still would be no difference'".

فقال (عليه سلام): كان فيها الأَعَاجب، و كان من أعْجبِ ما فيها أن قال لاِبنه: خفِ الله خيفة لو جئتَهُ ببرّ الثقلين لعذّبك، وارج الله رجاءً لو جئتَهُ بذنوب الثقلين لرحمك.

ثم قال أبو عبدالله (عليه السلام): ما من مؤمن اِلَّا و في قلبه نوران. نور خيفة و نور رجاء، لو وزن هٰذا لم يزد علی هٰذا، و لو وزن هٰذا لم يزد علی هٰذا

🌹Imam Husain (peace be with him) asked his father, Imam Ali (peace be with him) in regards to the silence of the Prophet (peace be with him and his progeny):

🍃"His silence was based on four things:

1) Forebearence
2) Caution
3) Consideration
4) Contemplation

🔹As for (his silence in) consideration, this was in order to look and listen to everyone carefully.

🔹As for contemplation, it was about what remains and what perishes [awe of the permanent reality of God, and the finitude of the universe and nature].

🔹He had a perfect balance of forebarence and patience. Nothing would enrage him or upset him

🔹He was cautious in four things: in his doing a good deed so that others would emulate him, in his abandoning evil so that others would also reject it, in his struggle to make the best decisions to reform his community, and in his performing that which secures the good of this world and the next".

The reply of Master of Believers, Imam Ali (peace be with him) to the opponents of distributing public treasury

When they shouted and complained to Imam Ali (peace be with him) as to why he distributes public treasury to the (general mass) people first, and doesn't give more to those who had a role in (the rise of) Islam and have prestige and reputation. He (peace be with him replied):

"Do you command me to trample and oppress the rights of the rest of the people under my government and be victorious regarding it?

I swear by God as long as the night and the day are there, and the stars rise and set, I will never do such a thing.

If this wealth was mine, I would distribute it all equally, while for surely this wealth at the end is the wealth of God.

Spiritual Wayfaring Topic 3

💠 Sin causes good deeds to be nullified

🍃 If someone performs good deeds abundantly, but considers himself unrestricted with regards to committing sins and does not exercise self-control through constant watchfulness of the self (muraqabah) his good deeds would definitely be eliminated by those sins.

🍃 It is learnt from the Quran and teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be with them) that committing sins destroys the actions that were performed to seek Allah's proximity, such that it nullifies their effect.

🍃 This is just as though someone consumes healthy, nutritious food on one side and at the same time, intakes unhealthy and harmful food. This neutralizes the good effects of the healthy food.

🍃 Hence, the first stage of faith in light of the teachings of Ahlul Bayt is the issue of performing the obligations (Wājib) and refraining from forbidden acts (Harām), with extraordinary emphasis and focus on avoiding the Harām. In one narration, it is said:

💠“Faith is not present in one who commits a sin."

🍃 This means that until one does not seek forgiveness after having committed sins, faith would not enter his heart.

Similarly, Imam Baqir (peace be with him) says:

💠"How great are the good deeds after sins, and how ugly are the bad deeds after good deeds."

The Prophet has also said:

💠"Refraining from sins precedes the performance of good deeds."

🍃 Sins nullify the good deeds. But it is important to note that if one ends up committing a sin, he should not give in to despair and say to himself, “Now that I have committed a sin, there is no point in performing good deeds!"

🍃 This is a whisper of Shaytan, who wants the servant of Allah to distance himself completely from Him, and through the excuse of having slipped (sinned unintentionally), keep one away from committing good deeds.

🍃 Imam was once asked, “A person commits sins and sometimes performs good deeds as well. Is this beneficial for him?"

Imam (peace be with him) replied,

💠"His good deeds will eventually result in him forsaking his bad deeds.”

🍃 As mentioned earlier, performing good deeds alongside heedlessness and committing sins is like consuming nutritious food alongside harmful foods.

🍃 This is just like a smoker, who doesn’t reduce his intake of healthy food although he is aware of the ills of smoking, for he also understands that the negative effects of the cigarette are reduced by the consumption of healthy food.

🍃 In any case, *the reality of sin is distancing oneself from the Almighty Allah*. This is a warning that sin and transgression deprives man of divine absolute perfection and the acquisition of desirable traits.

🍃 This reality is hard to bear for someone seeking perfection, and for this reason, all the stages have been mentioned in the supplications taught by Ahl al-Bayt so that everyone may benefit from them in accordance to his own level of belief and different states.

Forty Narrations regarding the End of Time: near the appearance of Imam Mahdi, May God hasten His reappearance:

🌺1- "In a far distant time, becoming wealthy will be through usurpation and fraud".

🌺2- "In a far distant time, people will accuse the believer of being dumb and
idiotic".

🌺3- "In a far distant time, self-publicity and counterfeiting will be prevalent".

🌺4- "In a far distant time, from Islam only its name will remain".
✔Prophet Muhammad (peace be with him and his progeny)

🌺5- "In a far distant time, truth will be kept hidden".

🌺6- "In a far distant time, (extreme) extravagance will be common, even for the water of ablution and shower".

🌺7- "In a far distant time, people will sleep late nights and miss their morning (fajr) prayers".

🌺8- "In a far distant time, a person who calls believers to prayer will seek refuge in the oppressed ones".

🌺9- "In a far distant time, the wives will be the direction of worship".

🌺10- "In a far distant time, people will flee from religious scholars".

🌺11- "In a far distant time, a believer will be neglected and transgressors will be respected".

🌺12- "In a far distant time, women will wear immodest covering (tight apparel) and decrease in proper clothing".

🌺13- "In a far distant time, scholars will be identified through lavish apparel".

🌺14- "In a far distant time, Islam will be misused, desecrated, and defamed".

🌺15- "In a far distant time, to preserve faith, one must escape places of sin".

🌺16- "In a far distant time, committing of sins will be blamed on God".

🌺17- "In a far distant time, some scholars will aim for public praise".

🌺18- "In a far distant time, the nation of Prophet Muhammad (peace be with him and his progeny) will be divided into many many sects".

🌺19- "In a far distant time, the most closest and reliable friend to people will be books".

🌺20- "In a far distant time, worship will be performed for social ranks".

🌻Imam As-Sadiq (peace be with him) was asked about the commandment(s) of Luqman. He answered:

💠"In the commandment(s) of Luqman for his son, there were marvels. The most marvelous statement of that commandment was his saying to his son:

💠'Fear God in a way, even if you provide the good deeds of both worlds, He will (still) punish (that is, anyone who has done all positive deeds of both worlds yet hadn't had sincerity for God, should be cautious).

💠And have great hope in Him in a way even if you're carrying the sins of both worlds, He will (still) be merciful to you.

🍃Imam As-Sadiq (peace be upon him) then said:

💠'Every believer inevitably has two illuminations in the heart: one is the illumination of fear and the other is the illumination of hope. (It is) such that if one were to weigh this with the other there will be no difference, and if one were to weigh the other with this there still would be no difference'".

فقال (عليه سلام): كان فيها الأَعَاجبب، و كان من أعْجبِ ما فيها أن قال لاِبنه: خفِ الله خيفة لو جئتَهُ ببرّ الثقلين لعذّبك، وارج الله رجاءً لو جئتَهُ بذنوب الثقلين لرحمك.

ثم قال أبو عبدالله (عليه السلام): ما من مؤمن اِلَّا و في قلبه نوران. نور خيفة و نور رجاء، لو وزن هٰذا لم يزد علی هٰذا، و لو وزن هٰذا لم يزد علی هٰذا

🌻Imam Ar-Redha (peace be with him) said:

💠"People will live in an age in which good health will be divided into ten divisions, nine of which will lie in seclusion and one in silence".

🌹Imam Husain (peace be with him) asked his father, Imam Ali (peace be with him) in regards to the silence of the Prophet (peace be with him and his progeny):

🍃"His silence was based on four things:

1) Forebearence
2) Caution
3) Consideration
4) Contemplation

🔹As for (his silence in) consideration, this was in order to look and listen to everyone carefully.

🔹As for contemplation, it was about what remains and what perishes [awe of the permanent reality of God, and the finitude of the universe and nature].

🔹He had a perfect balance of forebarence and patience. Nothing would enrage him or upset him

🔹He was cautious in four things: in his doing a good deed so that others would emulate him, in his abandoning evil so that others would also reject it, in his struggle to make the best decisions to reform his community, and in his performing that which secures the good of this world and the next".

🌻"When the sins of a servant of Allah multiply and grow in number, and he has nothing to expiate his sins with, Allah tests him with sorrow and grief, and thus expiate his sins".
