الا امام الحسن (علیهالسلام): المؤمن لا یلهو حتّی یغفل، فإذا تفکّر حزن
Imam Hasan (peace be with him): "A believer does not occupy himself with amusement lest he becomes negligent. And when he thinks (contemplates) he becomes sorrowful".
📚Mizan ul-Hikmah (ICAS press) p. 981 no. 5702
Commentary:
The more one contemplates about the reality of this short, transitory world, the more grief one finds.
As this awareness and understanding about the reality of the world and its followers increases, one will begin to see that the joys and comfort that people crave for are simply mirages in the desert that decieve the eye.
Thus, Imam Hasan (peace be with him) hints at this fact in which a believer who contemplates in depth will come to realize that the rewards and offers as promised by the world and its followers, as well as by our own fantasy and high expectations regarding the materialistic lavishes and luxuries, are all empty and void.
