There was once a businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small Brazilian village.
As he sat, he saw a Brazilian fisherman rowing a small boat towards the shore having caught quite few big fish.
The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman, “How long does it take you to catch so many fish?”
The fisherman replied, “Oh, just a short while.”
“Then why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?” The businessman was astonished.
“This is enough to feed my whole family,” the fisherman said.
The businessman then asked, “So, what do you do for the rest of the day?”
The fisherman replied, “Well, I usually wake up early in the morning, go out to sea and catch a few fish, then go back and play with my kids. In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife, and evening comes, I join my buddies in the village for a drink — we play guitar, sing and dance throughout the night.”
The businessman offered a suggestion to the fisherman.
“I am a PhD in business management. I could help you to become a more successful person. From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible. When you have saved enough money, you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish. Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and distribution network. By then, you will have moved out of this village and to Sao Paulo, where you can set up HQ to manage your other branches.”
The fisherman continues, “And after that?”
The businessman laughs heartily, “After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares in the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.”
The fisherman asks, “And after that?”
The businessman says, “After that, you can finally retire, you can move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when evening comes, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!”
The fisherman was puzzled, “Isn’t that what I am doing now?”

This event has been related in both Sunni and Shi’i books of hadith and Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir).
It is related in the al-Tafsir of al-Tha’labi:
When the Prophet called the Christians for the imprecation they said: 'Let us return and think over it.' When they were alone, they asked al-'Aqib - and he was a man of good judgment among them: 'O 'Abd al-Masih! What is your opinion? , He said: ' By Allah! The Two Oil Drops
A merchant sent his son to learn the Secret of Happiness from the wisest of men. The young man wandered through the desert for forty days until he reached a beautiful castle at the top of a mountain. There lived the sage that the young man was looking for.
However, instead of finding a holy man, our hero entered a room and saw a great deal of activity; merchants coming and going, people chatting in the corners, a small orchestra playing sweet melodies, and there was a table laden with the most delectable dishes of that part of the world.
The wise man talked to everybody, and the young man had to wait for two hours until it was time for his audience.
The Sage listened attentively to the reason for the boy’s visit, but told him that at that moment he did not have the time to explain to him the Secret of Happiness.
He suggested that the young man take a stroll around his palace and come back in two hours’ time.
“However, I want to ask you a favor,” he added, handling the boy a teaspoon, in which he poured two drops of oil. “While you walk, carry this spoon and don’t let the oil spill.”
The young man began to climb up and down the palace staircases, always keeping his eyes fixed on the spoon. At the end of two hours he returned to the presence of the wise man.
“So,” asked the sage, “did you see the Persian tapestries hanging in my dining room? Did you see the garden that the Master of Gardeners took ten years to create? Did you notice the beautiful parchments in my library?”
Embarrassed, the young man confessed that he had seen nothing. His only concern was not to spill the drops of oil that the wise man had entrusted to him.
“So, go back and see the wonders of my world,” said the wise man. “You can’t trust a man if you don’t know his house.”
Now more at ease, the young man took the spoon and strolled again through the palace, this time paying attention to all the works of art that hung from the ceiling and walls.
He saw the gardens, the mountains all around the palace, the delicacy of the flowers, the taste with which each work of art was placed in its niche. Returning to the sage, he reported in detail all that he had seen.
“But where are the two drops of oil that I entrusted to you?” asked the sage.
Looking down at the spoon, the young man realized that he had spilled the oil.
“Well, that is the only advice I have to give you,” said the sage of sages.
“The Secret of Happiness lies in both looking at all the wonders of the world and never forgetting to maintain balance of yourself internally".

14.Good example in his and his followers' treatment of idol worshippers
There is certainly a good exemplar for you in Abraham and those who were with him, when they said to their own people, 'Indeed we repudiate you and whatever you worship besides God. We disavow you, and between you and us there has appeared enmity and hate for ever,
unless you come to have faith in God alone,' except for Abraham's saying to his father, 'I will surely plead forgiveness for you, though I cannot avail you anything against God'. (60:4)
There is certainly a good exemplar for you in them -for those who look forward to God and the Last Day- and anyone who refuses to comply [should know that] indeed God is the All- sufficient, the All-laudable. (60:6)

Spiritual connection of Shias with Ali:
"Rameelah was a Shia of Ali. He says:
'While in Kufa, I suffered from fever and shivering for some days. I was unable to attend prayer behind Amirul Momineen.
It was Friday. I found some relief and experienced that my fever had reduced. I thought how nice if I take Friday bath and go to the mosque to pray behind Ali. So I came to the Mosque of Kufa.
Ali began to give the sermon from the pulpit. My fever returned and I began to tremble again, but I controlled myself. After the completion of the sermon and concluding the prayer, Ali sent someone for me.
I went to him, and He asked
me, 'Rameelah! What had happened to you when I was on the pulpit? You looked very restless and uncomfortable!'
I replied, 'I am suffering from fever for quite some time. I felt somewhat better today and hence I came to the mosque to attend your sermon when again I was disturbed by fever and shivering'.
The summary of Imam Ali's reply is this, 'This fever and shivering of yours has also entered me'.
I asked, 'Is it so with those who are in the Mosque or it is so with those outside too?'
Amirul Momineen said, 'Throughout the world, be it in east or west whenever one of our Shias becomes restless,
we too experience that restlessness'".

Characteristics of the Prophet Shu'ayb
1.He puts his trust in God
He said, 'O my people! Have you considered, should I stand on a manifest proof from my Lord, who has provided me a good provision from Himself? I do not wish to oppose you by what I forbid you. I only desire to put things in
order, as far as I can, and my success lies only with God: in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn penitently. (11:88)
2.Penitent
and my success lies only with God: in Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn penitently. (11:88)
3.Trustworthy
Indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you. (26:178)
Note: In the verse 11:87, those who had not believed in the Prophet Shu'ayb's mission, characterised him with forbearance and right-mindedness:
They said, 'O Shu'ayb, does your worship require that we abandon what our fathers have been worshiping, or that we should not do with our means whatever we wish? You are indeed [a] gentle and sensible [person].' (11:87)
There are two views among the exegetes of the Qur'an in this regard. Some believe that they were not serious in this and were instead ridiculing him. Others believe that they had admitted that he possessed these two qualities and were asking him that why a person like him with such characteristics must ask them not to worship what their fathers used to worship.

🌲🌲🌻Du'a🌻🌲🌲
✴️Question: "Is there any disagreement between du'a (supplication, prayer, request) and the idea of submission to God and satisfaction with His ordainments? For instance, when Abraham was being cast into fire by a catapult, Gabriel inquired if he needed anything. He replied, 'not from you're. Then, Gabriel suggested that he should invoke God to deliver him from the fire, but Abraham replied, 'His (God's) knowledge of my states makes me needless to state".
✅Answer by Allamah Tabātabā'i: "There are two kinds of prayer (du'a).
1️⃣One is to state one's spiritual and psychological condition. For instance, Abu Dharr fell sick and was visited by Uthmān who asked him, 'why do you not see a physician?' He replied, 'the Physician (that is, God) has afflicted me with this illness.
2️⃣The other kind is to invoke God to grant one's request, which is also desirable. God, Almighty says: 'Call Me! And I will answer you (40:60); Everyone in the heavens and the Earth asks Him. Every day He is engaged in some work (55:29); When my servants ask you about Me, (tell them that) I am indeed nearmost. I answer the supplicant's call when he calls Me' (2:186). The account of Abraham fall into the first category".

Meeting of the grand Ayatollah Boroujerdi with a great Eastern Philosopher and his visit of Ahlulbayt.
Late Sheikh Muhammad Sharif Rāzi has mentioned in his book “The Treasure of Scholars”:
💢 In the month of Dhi-Hajjah in 1368 hijri, I was at the house of the late Ayatollah Hojjat (RA), and the late Mirza Mahdi Āshtiyani was there.
💢 Ayatollah Borujerdi and Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Taghi Khwansāri came to see him.
💢 After the formalities and compliments, Ayatullah Hojjat said to Ayatollah Boroujerdi: Agha Mirza Mehdi Ashtiani have a beautiful Mokashefah (unveiling into the unseen) and it is appropriate if he himself narrates it.
💢 Agha Mīrza Āshtiyāni said: "I am having jaundice, and so I have been traveling abroad for treatment, but I have not been cured," he said. In 1365 (AH), when the Marxists had dominated the north and west of Iran, I visited Mashhad for pilgrimage.
💢 During the bus (ride there) I suddenly so sick that the passengers and the driver thought I had a stroke. They stopped the bus and took me out for help.
💢 Then I saw (found myself) that I was in Arafāt, and many heavenly lights were coming to the ground. And I saw that the people were attracted to one side.
💢 I asked: what's going on ? They said: Hazrat Rasoul (prophet Mohammad peace be with him and his progeny) has just arrived.
💢 I went to that side and saw few tents next to each other. The big tent belonged to the Prophet (peace be with him and his progeny). I passed over to the tent and visited the Prophet. I wanted to say about my sickness and my other anxieties and needs, but he (Prophet) said: "since you are pilgrimage of my son Reza (peace be with him), go to the tent that belongs to him” to see him.
💢 Then I went to the tent of Hazrat Imām Reza, and I mentioned three of my needs.
🔸 The first about my sickness, he said: It is destined to stay with you until you die.
🔸 Second: about the trial and corruptions of Marxists, He said: "Soon their evils will pass by. And you are all safe until you connect with (our) shrines and mourn in Majaalis of us Ahlulbayt with true recognition of us.
🔸And the third was about my personal issue. Regarding that he said: This will be done also.

The reply of Master of Believers, Imam Ali (peace be with him) to the opponents of distributing public treasury
When they shouted and complained to Imam Ali (peace be with him) as to why he distributes public treasury to the (general mass) people first, and doesn't give more to those who had a role in (the rise of) Islam and have prestige and reputation. He (peace be with him replied):
"Do you command me to trample and oppress the rights of the rest of the people under my government and be victorious regarding it?
I swear by God as long as the night and the day are there, and the stars rise and set, I will never do such a thing.
If this wealth was mine, I would distribute it all equally, while for surely this wealth at the end is the wealth of God.

said: "to bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah and that 'Isa (Jesus) (a.s) is created a slave (of Allah), and he used to eat, drink and relieve himself”.
They said: “Then who was his father”? The revelation was then revealed to the Messenger of Allah saying: “Say to them - what do you say about Adam, was he a created servant (of Allah), who would eat, drink, relieve himself and cohabit”?
So the Prophet asked them and they replied: “Yes”. He (Prophet) asked them: “Then who was his father”? They could not answer, so Allah revealed:
Verily, the similitude of Jesus with Allah is as the similitude of Adam; Allah created him out of dust, then said to him, ‘Be’, and he became (3:59)
till the verse:
And should anyone argue with you concerning him, after the knowledge that has come to you…. and call down Allah’s curse upon the liars. (3:61)
The Messenger of God said: “So challenge me: if I am telling the truth the curse falls on you, and if I am a liar the curse falls on me”. They said: “You have been just”.
They agreed on a date for ‘mubahala’ (mutual imprecation). [The term 'Mubahala' is derived from its Arabic root 'bahlah' meaning 'curse'. Thus the act of al-Mubahala means that each of the two parties invokes the curse of Allah on the other if the latter is untruthful].
When they returned to the places they were staying in, their leaders al-Sayyid, al-'Aqib and al-Ahtam said: “If he challenges us with his people, we accept the challenge for he is not a Prophet; but if he challenges us with his family in particular we don't challenge him, for he is not going to put forward his family unless he is truthful”.
In the morning, they came to the Messenger of Allah, and there with him were the Commander of the Faithful Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn peace be with them, so the Christians said: “Who are those”? The people replied: “This is his cousin and successor and son-in-law, and this is his daughter Fatimah, and these are his grandsons, Hasan and Husayn”.
When the Christian delegation saw a woman, two children and only one man with the Prophet, they were frightened and worried and said to the Messenger of Allah: “We will pay tax so excuse us from the ‘mubahala’”. Then the Messenger of Allah made a settlement with them for them to pay the Jizya like muslims were paying zakaat and khums and then they left.’

You are well-aware, O Christians, that Muhammad is a prophet sent by Allah, and that he has brought to you the decisive word about your Companion ('Jesus of Nazareth).
By Allah! Whenever a nation has entered into imprecation with a prophet, their elders have perished and their youngsters have died. And if you do it, we shall surely perish; but, if you turn down, for the love of your religion and (want) to remain on what you have at present, then make peace with the man and go back to your towns.
"So they came to the Messenger of Allah; and he had come out in the morning carrying Husayn in his lap, holding the hand of Hasan, with Fatimah walking behind him and 'Ali was behind her; and he was saying: 'When I pray, you say "Amen" '. Then the Bishop of Najran said: 'O Christians! Surely I see the faces that if they ask Allah to remove a mountain from its place, He would surely remove it. Therefore, do not do imprecation, otherwise you will perish, and there will not remain any Christian on the face of the earth, upto the Day of Resurrection’.
"Then they said: 'O Abu'l-Qasim! We have decided that we should not enter into imprecation against you; and that we leave you on your religion and we remain on our religion.'

🔴 Manner and Beautiful Reply to A Man’s Insult
🍃 One of the relatives of Imam al-Sajjad (a) stood against him and insulted him.
🌸 Imam al-Sajjad (a) stood silent and did not reply.
After that man went, Imam (a) told the people there,
“You heard what he said, now you come with me to hear my reply.”
🔶 They said, “we’ll come [with you]! We also would like to reply to him.”
They went to the house of the insulter all together. Imam (a) told the servant of the house,
▫️ “Tell your master that Ali b. al-Husayn (a) is standing at the door.”
The insulter came out ready to attack while he expected Imam’s (a) revenge.
🌼 But, Imam al-Sajjad (a) mildly said,
🌸 “O brother! Just a moment ago, you came to us and said what you wanted; if that [you said] exists in me, I ask God for forgiveness about it and if it is not in me, I ask God to forgive you.”
🍃 The man was embarrassed and kissed the forehead of Imam (a) and said,
💠 “What I said did not exist in you and I myself better deserve them!”
🌼 The companions of Imam al-Sajjad (a) said that on the way, Imam (a) recited the verse 134 of sura Al ‘Imran(The Holy Quran),
🌸 “…and [those who] suppress their anger, and excuse [the faults of] the people, and Allah(God) loves the virtuous;”

LIFE AFTER LIFE
Late Āyatollāh Shaykh Sāfi Golpayegani wrote a wonderful book named: “Muntakhab-ul Athar Fil Imam-is Sāni Ashar” around nineteen years before the Iranian revolution. During that time editing and printing a book was much more difficult than today and it required a lot of effort. So Āyatollāh Shaykh Sāfi says that he decided to review his book and confirm that everything was correct once after the long process of the publication process, where he said that it had to go to different cities for revision and review.
Āyatollāh Sāfi says that when he was busy reviewing his book he fell sick and would not get better despite taking medications. He says that his family was convinced his time of death came and began preparing for it. The elder scholars from his relatives like his father inlaw Āyatollāh Sayyed Mohammad Reza Golpayegani and some others came to say their final goodbyes.
At this point, Āyatollāh Shaykh Sāfi says that he died and that his soul began to elevate upward. There, he said that the scene completely changed. How beautiful, delightful, and unfathomable in pleasure and beauty existed there, he recalls. He said that while witnessing the greatness of that scene a voice asked him if he wanted to return? Ayatollah Safi said: “No not at all.” Some time passed and the question was repeated but he answered in the negative. The voice then asked if he had any work that had to be complete? He says: “yes, I was trying to finish reviewing my book, but perhaps Imām Mahdi did not find it favorable for me to finish the book (and thus God took my soul).” Āyatollāh Sāfi says that as soon as he said that his soul returned!
The people around his bed were surprised to see him return. Āyatollāh Sāfi healed completely, after which he finished his book and lived a long life of 106 years. The Sayyed (in the talk show) says that even when he spoke during his old age his memory remained intact with smallest of details.
The Sayyed continues: “we thought sustenance (rizq) was simply (quick doses of) material and spiritual (benefits), but never thought it to be a lifelong effect!“
The Sayyed says: “I asked his permission to share this story. Though he preferred it not to be shared, I insisted and said that perhaps (his experience) was a trust (by God) to him and it (was an experience) shared by you (the master and mentor). So let us the students benefit.”

Ayatollah Sayyed Sajid Ali Naqvi:
I am amazed and don’t understand that when you put your children in conventional education, they have certificates, diplomas and degrees. They then go on to the advanced stages and reach Master's and Ph.D. There are standards that are set. But when it comes to religion, why you have no such standards!
(You do not ask) the person who come to the pulpit , what is his status, what has he studied, what is his academic status, where did he get his education and how many years did he spend? Do you ask if he has a certificate, a degree, an evidence (if he attended the Hawza) or not? This question is never asked and no one even ask about whatever (right or wrong) that person says on the pulpit.
All of this is because there is a lack of knowledge and education in our society, a lack of benefiting from the teachings (traditions and values) of the Prophet and his Household!
Those who do not understand the meaning of ijtihad, they give opinions on ijtihadi issues and people listen, and even praise them.
There is so much weakness, we must work and strive to remove our (moral and educational) deficiencies!

💠English Transcription of the Interview with Ayatollah Abdolkarim Kashmiri Regarding his Attainment of Far Advanced Spiritual Stations
🔸Interviewer: Did you see potential in yourself from the outset in regard to choosing and wayfaring the path of God?
🔹Reply: I had love
🔸Interviewer: You had love for this?
🔹Reply: Yes, I was always around the elders, from among the scholars and those who truly practiced (the teachings of AhlulBayt). Since childhood, I was never with the youngsters. I was with Hajj Hosein Tehrani, who was an old man from the students of the late Akhund. We studied Kifaya under him, and I was in his presence a lot.
🔸Interviewer: Was it extraordinarily great?
🔹Reply: He was a good man. He was a competent scholar. I was (also) in the presence of Shaykh Akbar Iraqi a lot.
🔸Interviewer: Where in Najaf did you spend most of your time at? (For example, any) Places of worship, or blessed sites?
🔹Reply: I was at Wadi, I was always at Wadi us-salaam (a large cemetery in Najaf), to the extent that I would sleep there some nights. Yes, I’d fall asleep there.
🔸Interviewer: What did you see that made you so attached and affectionate (toward spending so much time alone in the cemetery)?
🔹Reply: Tranquility and eternal sustenance (that follows the final breath of worldly, toilsome life). Wadi us-salaam is paradise. I was so in love with Wadi that I’d have scholarly discussions (with scholars and seminarian friends) there as well. I was obsessed with Wadi.
🔸Interviewer: God willing, the ways open up again (for you to visit).
🔹Reply: I never had constant interaction with people. I’d read congregation prayers with people but never had constant interaction with them. I’d go (to the mosque) to pray and come back.
🔸Interviewer: What deed did you experience to be most effective?
🔹Reply: A thousand recitations of Surah Ikhlas.
🔸Interviewer: Everyday?
🔹Reply: Everyday.
🔸Interviewer: In the age of the major occultation, is it possible for the followers of Imām Mahdi to meet him?
🔹Reply: Yes, If they become spiritually pure and clean. Imām Mahdi is spiritually pure. Be pure and align yourself with him.
🔸Interviewer: Is there a specific deed for meeting the Imām?
🔹Reply: Recite Ziyarat Aale Yasin. Ask Imām to intercede for you.
