The Significance of Sincere Deeds
(God doesn't accept deeds mixed with title, name, and logo stamped across it)
💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠💠
Ayatollah Musawi Ardabili's Barzakh Experience, narrated by his close friend (Asghar Fardi):
Some time later, I heard that Hajj Aghaye (Ardabili) had a brain stroke and was sent to the hospital. I heard that at that time, Agha Ardabili had a heart attack, but he recovered. Then again, after a while, he had another heart attack but lived it, surprising the doctors. It was most likely that his remaining energy would collapse him again. I spoke to Dr. Ghulamreza Shāfi'i, who was the head of the operation, made an appointment with him and so we visited Ayatollah Ardabili (at his home when recovered). Hajj Aghaye (Ardabili) was present in his home in Tehran resting. When we arrived, Agha Muhammadi Gūlpāykāni was also present, having arrived before us. After some time sitting with Hajj Aghaye (Ardabili), we decided to leave because visiting the sick shouldn't be too long. We stood up and Hajj Agha bid farewell to all of us, including Aghaye Shafi'i. As we were all leaving, Hajj Agha told me to stay. So I sat on the pillow mat and Hajj Agha then relayed to me that he wanted to share with me his unique experience.
"When I had the brain stroke, I left the world for a short time but I still remembered what happened in that short time."
Agha then requested at this moment not to disclose his experience to others (now that he has passed away, I will share it, for it was a grand experience and a lesson for all).
He then said: "when I realized I had left this (material) world, I called out my eldest son's name to be (more) certain that I was not in the material world. They (Angels) said he is in the other world. I then called out my second son's name, and they (Angels) replied again that I was in a different realm and he is located in the material realm.
At that time, they asked me what I had brought with me. So I then pondered for a moment, concentrating and wondering, because I had to bring to mind my actions from the (material) world.
I then said, 'I wrote for the first time in Shi'i history, a compilation and analyzation in depth about "Penalty (in islam)". The Angels said, 'you did that in order to brag that you are the first one to write (about that topic) in Shi'a history'. My desperation got intense.
I then said, 'I established the largest university in regards to Islamic Sciences'. They replied, 'you also established that deed because you couldn't attain other (social) ranks'.
I then said that I was the founder of Ameeril Mo'mineen center, and they yet again rejected.
I thought to myself, maybe my life-long years spent guiding the people at Ameeril Mo'mineen mosque would have been my salvation today, but did they?
At that instance, I remembered that one night, as I exited the masjid after Maghrib and Isha prayers, an old lady approached me and pleaded that her daughter had a suitor, and if she wasn't to be married then she and the rest of them would be grounded at home (by their financial situation), and surely she would have no energy to undergo such circumstances. I took the chance right away and invited her to my home where I relayed the situation to my wife, then introduced her. I told my wife to help this old lady from our savings and not from the religious funds (khums), in order that she may arrange her daughters wedding.
As I finished telling the Angels this account, they exclaimed: 'Yes! This is accepted. Because of this (pristinely sincere) deed, we'll forgive all the other (deeds)'.
As Aghaye Ardabili was narrating this experience segment by segment, he was shaking and crying like an orphan. Finally, he said, 'someone after one lifetime of struggle (with the soul and people), preaching, research, quoting of Imams (peace be with them all), did not come to hand (and help me succeed). Instead, one small (sincere) deed was what came to my aid'".

The Two Oil Drops
A merchant sent his son to learn the Secret of Happiness from the wisest of men. The young man wandered through the desert for forty days until he reached a beautiful castle at the top of a mountain. There lived the sage that the young man was looking for.
However, instead of finding a holy man, our hero entered a room and saw a great deal of activity; merchants coming and going, people chatting in the corners, a small orchestra playing sweet melodies, and there was a table laden with the most delectable dishes of that part of the world.
The wise man talked to everybody, and the young man had to wait for two hours until it was time for his audience.
The Sage listened attentively to the reason for the boy’s visit, but told him that at that moment he did not have the time to explain to him the Secret of Happiness.
He suggested that the young man take a stroll around his palace and come back in two hours’ time.
“However, I want to ask you a favor,” he added, handling the boy a teaspoon, in which he poured two drops of oil. “While you walk, carry this spoon and don’t let the oil spill.”
The young man began to climb up and down the palace staircases, always keeping his eyes fixed on the spoon. At the end of two hours he returned to the presence of the wise man.
“So,” asked the sage, “did you see the Persian tapestries hanging in my dining room? Did you see the garden that the Master of Gardeners took ten years to create? Did you notice the beautiful parchments in my library?”
Embarrassed, the young man confessed that he had seen nothing. His only concern was not to spill the drops of oil that the wise man had entrusted to him.
“So, go back and see the wonders of my world,” said the wise man. “You can’t trust a man if you don’t know his house.”
Now more at ease, the young man took the spoon and strolled again through the palace, this time paying attention to all the works of art that hung from the ceiling and walls.
He saw the gardens, the mountains all around the palace, the delicacy of the flowers, the taste with which each work of art was placed in its niche. Returning to the sage, he reported in detail all that he had seen.
“But where are the two drops of oil that I entrusted to you?” asked the sage.
Looking down at the spoon, the young man realized that he had spilled the oil.
“Well, that is the only advice I have to give you,” said the sage of sages.
“The Secret of Happiness lies in both looking at all the wonders of the world and never forgetting to maintain balance of yourself internally".

An ant is fearful of losing its grain
Unaware that it is from the harvest of the plain.
It carries a grain in fear and greed,
It's blind to the abundant stock of seed.
The farmer smiles seeing this scene:
'You think the world is only what you have seen.
You are holding a seed, to which you are bound;
But my harvest is abundant, lying on the ground. '

Part two
8.His heart is strengthened by God
Whatever We relate to you of the accounts of the apostles are those by which We strengthen your heart, and there has come to you in this [surah] the truth and an advice and admonition for the faithful. (11:120)
The faithless say, 'Why has not the Qur'an been sent down to him all at once?' So it is, that We may strengthen your heart with it, and We have recited it [to you] in a measured tone. (25:32)
9.He puts his trust in God
Thus have We sent you to a nation before which many nations have passed away, that you may recite to them what We have revealed to you. Yet they defy the All-beneficent. Say, 'He is my Lord; there is no god except Him; in Him I have put my trust, and to Him will be my return.' (13:30)
Whatever thing you may differ about, its judgment is with God. That is God, my Lord. In Him I have put my trust, and to Him I turn penitently. (42:10)
10.Mercy to all the inhabitants of the world:
We did not send you but as a mercy to all the nations. (21:107)
11.Trustworthy:
[saying,] 'Give over the servants of God to me; indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you. (44:18)
12.Hard against the faithless
Muhammad, the Apostle of God, and those who are with him are hard against the faithless and merciful amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in worship], seeking God's grace and [His] pleasure. Their mark is [visible] on their faces, from the effect of prostration. Such is their description in the Torah and their description in the Evangel.
Like a tillage that sends out its shoots and builds them up, and they grow stout and settle on their stalks, impressing the sowers, so that He may enrage the faithless by them. God has promised those of them who have faith and do righteous deeds
forgiveness and a great reward. (48:29)
13.Devotion to God
Muhammad, the Apostle of God, and those who are with him are hard against the faithless and merciful amongst themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in worship], seeking God's grace and [His] pleasure. Their mark is [visible] on their faces, from the effect of prostration.(48:29)
Indeed your Lord knows that you stand vigil nearly two thirds of the night -or [at times] a half or a third of it- along with a group of those who are with you. (73:20)
14.Great character
Nun. By the Pen and what they write: you are not, by your Lord's blessing, crazy, and yours indeed will be an everlasting reward, and indeed you possess a great character. You will see and they will see, which one of you is crazy. Indeed your Lord knows best those who stray from His way, and He knows best those who are guided.
(68:1-4)
15.Good example
In the Apostle of God there is certainly for you a good exemplar, for those who look forward to God and the Last Day, and remember God greatly. (33:21)

3.Taught the Book and wisdom by God
And He will teach him the Book and wisdom, the Torah and the Evangel, (3:48)
When God will say, O Jesus son of Mary, remember My blessing upon you and upon your mother, when I strengthened you with the Holy Spirit, so you would speak to the people in the cradle and in adulthood, and when I taught you the Book and wisdom,
the Torah and the Evangel, and when you would create from clay the form of a bird, with My leave, and you would breathe into it and it would become a bird, with My leave; and you would heal the blind and the leper, with My leave, and you would raise the dead, with My leave; and when I held off [the evil of] the Children of Israel from you when you brought them manifest proofs, whereat the faithless among them said, 'This is nothing but

*This is what Amir al-mu'minin said on the occasion of the burial of Sayyidatu'n-nisā' (Supreme lady) Fatimah (peace be with her) while addressing the Prophet at his grave.*
🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶🔷🔶
O' Prophet of God, please accept my salams and those of your daughter who is being buried not far from you, and who is to meet you so quickly. O last chosen Apostle! The death of your daughter has left me without patience and solace. I have lost my self-restraint and power of endurance.
After having endured the separation from you I shall have to bear this catastrophe patiently. O Prophet of God! I laid you down in the grave with my own hands, your soul departed from my body while you were resting upon my chest and your head was lying between my neck and heart.
Verily we are for Allah's and verily unto Him shall we return (Qur'an 2:156)
Your trust (your daughter) which was entrusted to me is taken back from me. Sorrow now abides with me and happiness has taken leave. This grief is so overbearing that it engulfs and swallows other sorrows, and it has left me with sleepless nights and joyless days. From now onwards, my life will be a continued heartache until God gathers me with you both in the realm of His favour and peace.
O Apostle of God! Your dear daughter will tell you how your followers have behaved with her and how they have mistreated her. Please ask her the details of all that has happened to her during such a short period (barely three months) after your departure to Heaven. This period of separation from you was so short that people were still remembering you and talking about you.
Please, both of you accept my parting salams and goodbye. It is the wish of a sincere heart, which has loved and will always love you both, a heart which will cherish and will carry your tender and loving memeories to its grave. Goodbye O daughter of the chosen Apostle of God! May you rest in peace (in the world) which mankind has refused you in this world. If I leave your grave to go it is not because I am tired of your company, rather I wish I had it till the end of my life. If I make a permanent abode on your grave, it will not be because I doubt the reward that God has reserved for those who bear sorrows patiently, Goodbye, may God's peace and blessings be with you both.

Spiritual connection of Shias with Ali:
"Rameelah was a Shia of Ali. He says:
'While in Kufa, I suffered from fever and shivering for some days. I was unable to attend prayer behind Amirul Momineen.
It was Friday. I found some relief and experienced that my fever had reduced. I thought how nice if I take Friday bath and go to the mosque to pray behind Ali. So I came to the Mosque of Kufa.
Ali began to give the sermon from the pulpit. My fever returned and I began to tremble again, but I controlled myself. After the completion of the sermon and concluding the prayer, Ali sent someone for me.
I went to him, and He asked
me, 'Rameelah! What had happened to you when I was on the pulpit? You looked very restless and uncomfortable!'
I replied, 'I am suffering from fever for quite some time. I felt somewhat better today and hence I came to the mosque to attend your sermon when again I was disturbed by fever and shivering'.
The summary of Imam Ali's reply is this, 'This fever and shivering of yours has also entered me'.
I asked, 'Is it so with those who are in the Mosque or it is so with those outside too?'
Amirul Momineen said, 'Throughout the world, be it in east or west whenever one of our Shias becomes restless,
we too experience that restlessness'".

A former Hindu embraces Islam
The following is an edited story of a convert.
“By God’s grace I am blessed with religion of God.My name is Mohammed Umar Rao and I am from India. I embraced Islam at the age of 18. I shared my story with two persons. All praise and thanks be to God, they were convinced that my decision and choice is best, they started reading Qur’an and also embraced Islam”.
Muhammad Umar Rao, a former Hindu, who hated Muslims and held opposing views against the religion and its followers. He started reading the Quran to find discrepancies in the Book of God but ended up embracing Islam.
“I come from a middle class orthodox Brahmin family; my parents worked in private firms. My mother was a teacher and my father a textile engineer. My religious education was at my maternal uncle’s place, that is how I became orthodox and my whole family education was always against Muslims, which was [deeply embedded in my conscience].
I was associated with RSS for few years; I always hated Muslims to the extent that in all public functions I wanted to give high volume for music sound boxes to ensure that the Adhaan (Call to Prayer) not be heard at all. I used to go round the town visiting all temples to complete my worship everyday. I was appreciated in family for being orthodox.

Tehran?!’
I said, ‘On the weekend.’
Then he said, ‘I will write down three addresses. When you go to Tehran give my wage to those three families!’ And I did this.
Later I found out that all three families were poor but respectable families.”

Prophet Mohammad’s Sermon of Sha’bāniyeh (peace be with him and his Progeny) خطبه شعبانيه
Part Two
And whosoever repeatedly invokes Allah's blessings on me (salawāt), Allah will keep his scale of good deeds heavy, while the scales of others will be tending to lightness.
He who recites one verse of the Qur'ān will be given the rewards
of reciting the whole Qur'ān during other months.
O people! The gates of Paradise and Heaven remain open during this month. Ask your Lord not to close them for you; while the gates of Hell-fires are closed, ask your Lord to keep them closed for you.
During this month devils (Satans) are imprisoned in chains. So, ask your Lord not to let them have power and domination over you.'
Amir al-Mu’menin said that ‘I stood up and asked: O’ Messenger of God, what are the best deeds during this month?'
He replied: ‘O Aba al-Hassan, the best of deeds during this month is to be far from what Allah has forbidden.'"
Then all of sudden prophet cried.
I said: ‘O Prophet of God, what is the reason for your crying?’
Prophet said: ‘O Ali, I weep for that your sanctity will be violated in this month. It is as if I see you are praying to your Lord, but one who is the most unfortunate of this nation from the first day to the end, who is the brother of the one who beheads the people of Thamud, gets up and strikes you on the head, and your beard is colored with the blood of your head.’
I said: ‘O Prophet of God, is my religion safe in that case?’
Prophet said: ‘Your religion is safe and perfect.’
Then he said: ‘O Ali, whoever kills you, has killed me, and whoever considers you an enemy, has made me an enemy, and whoever insults you, has insulted me. Because you are from me, like my soul. Your soul is from my soul and your nature is from my nature. God Almighty created me and you and chose me and you and chose me as the Prophet and you as the Imām. Whoever denies your Imamate has denied my prophethood.
O Ali, you have my authority, and you’re the father of my children (Imām Hasan and Husain), the husband of my daughter and you’re my successor over my nation, when I am alive and after my death. Your command is my command and your prohibition is my prohibition. (For what I said,) I swear by God, who chose me to prophethood and made me one of the best of creatures.’”

✅ Imam Ali’s (a) Beautiful Encounter with His Killer
🔶 Generosity is among great attributes of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) and these attributes have been the reason that God the Almighty appointed these fourteen lights, i.e. the Ahl al-Bayt (a), His proof and vicegerents among creations in the world. They were ones who expressed kindness and forgiveness even toward their killers. Here, we will mention a little example of Imam Ali’s (a) kindness and forgiveness.
🔶 About his killer (Ibn Muljam), Imam Ali (a) advised as follows:
🍃 When Imam Ali (a) became conscious, he (a) opened his eyes and said, ‘O angels of my God! Be tolerant with me!” Then, his eyes fell on his killer (Ibn Muljam) whose hands were tied. With a weak voice, though full of kindness, Imam (a) said, ‘O Ibn Muljam! You committed a grave deed and a tremendous crime. Was I a bad Imam (a) for you that you rewarded me this way? Did not I do good to you or add to your privileges? Did not I leave you free and return from the path of deviation while they reported to me about you that you were so and such?” Then, Imam (a) turned to his son, Hasan (a) and said, “O my son! Be tolerant with your captive; and treat him kindly and with mercy; for not you see how his eyes are rolling in fear and his heart is in distress!”
🌸 Imam al-Hasan (a) said, “this cursed man struck you and has made our heart painful; now, you order that I treat him with tolerance?!” Imam Ali (a) said, “yes, my son! We are the Ahl al-Bayt (a) of mercy and forgiveness. For the right I have upon you, feed him from your own food, and give him from your own drink. Do not chain or handcuff him.”
🌼 This great generosity and mercy even toward his killer is among the most beautiful attributes of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) and shows well whom God has bestowed his mission upon.
🔖 Note: After Ibn Muljam’s strike on the head of Imam Ali (a), Imam (a) was in bed for some days and then he (a) was martyred because the sword was poisoned.

“Whoever recognizes his own faults
Towards perfection rapidly then vaults,
But if you think you're perfect as you are,
You won't reach God for you have strayed too far
Imagining you're perfect is the worst
Of faults, you show-off learn this lesson first!
Much blood will flow out from your heart and eyes
Before your self-conceit completely dies,
Claiming, 'I'm better’ was cursed (and) Satan's error,
And this same defect lies in every creature:
Although they like to show themselves as meek,
There's dung beneath the surface- smell the reek,
When, as a test, the Lord should stir them round,
Their water then immediately is browned,
There's dung in your stream's bed that you've not seen
And to your eyes the stream looks pure and clean!”
