💞THYROID GLAND 💞
🔰is an endocrine gland
🔰It's butterfly-shaped organ that sits at the front of the neck.
🔰Covered by capsule and pretracheal fasica .
▪️Normally extend from C 5 through T 1.
▪️It is composed of two lobes (cone shap) left and right connected by a narrow isthmus.
🔘Each lobe consiste of :-
1/apex
extend to oblique line of thyroid cartilage
Located in the anteriore region of the neck.
2/base downword.
3/medial surface related to trachea, esophgus, pharynx, larynx, cricothyroid muscle, external larngeal nerve,
4/lateral surface related to sternothyroid and sternohyoid .
5/posterior surface related to carotid sheath, parathyroid gland, anastmosis between supperior and inferiore thyroid artery.
▪️The gland ehas accsessory lobe (pyramidal lobe) present upword to isthmus .
▪️ the gland not palpable in examination.
▪️The thyroid weighs 25 grams in adults with each lobe being about 5 cm long ,3 cm wide and 2 cm thick .
and the isthmus about 1.25 cm in height and width.
▫️#levetor glandular thyroide is amuscular tissue connect pyramidal lobe to hyoid bone.
✳️BLOOD SUPPLY:-
_Supperior thyroid artery ➣branch of external carotid artery
_accompanid by the external laryngeal nearve.
_Inferiore thyroid artery
➢branch of the thyrocervical trunk.
_accompanied by recurrent laryngeal nerve.
_Thyroid ima artery
➢branch e brachiocephalic artery or the arch of the aorta
Supply lower part of ithmus.
✳️VEIN:-
_Supperior thyroid vein ➱end into internal jugular vein
_Meddile thyroid veine ➱end into internal jugular vein
_Inferior thyroid vein ➱end in the brachiocephalic vein
♻️LYMPHATIC DRIANGE :-
Deep cervical lymph node
♻️NERVE SUPPLY :-
Supperior, inferior, middle cervical sympathatic ganglia.
♻️Note:-
The gland is usually larger in women, and increases in size in pregnancy.
💞PARATYROID GLAND💞
➪are small endocrine glands
➪two pairs of glands
2 superior and 2 inferiore
usauly positioned behaind left and right lobes of the thyroid gland.
-superior gland : constant in position - lie behind middle lobe of
thyroid gland .
-inferior gland : less constant - lie behind lower bole – superior or posteriore mediastenum.
🔰Each gland is a yellowish-brown flat ovoid .
🔰Weight 50 .

Supperior gland from 4th pharyngeal pouch.
