🔺Abstract
Despite its importance for Shīʿites and other Muslims, the story of the death of Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī at Karbala in 61/680 is clearly under-researched. So, for example, except for Borrut (2015) hardly any of the previous studies made have compared different versions of the story and attempted to set a relative date to them. Such a study is necessary in order to map the development of the Karbalāʾ story and the image of Ḥusayn in the emergence of Shīʿite ideology. In this paper I will discuss the relative date of two important versions of the Karbala story related by Ṭabarī: one, relatively short and lacking in detail, is ascribed to Imam al-Bāqir (d. 114/732); the other, much longer and more detailed, is compiled by Abū Mikhnaf (d. 157/774). Studies in other fields, such as “historical Jesus-studies,” have shown that brevity and lack of details is not a certain criterion for old age of a version of a story; in order to ascertain the relative age of two versions, detailed studies have to be made and conclusions drawn from case to case. By comparing three passages in the two versions of the Karbalāʾ story: Ḥusayn’s encounter with al-Ḥurr; Ḥusayn’s attempt to negotiate with the enemy; and the killing of Ḥusayn’s baby boy, I hope to demonstrate that the version ascribed to al-Bāqir is indeed the older of the two, although its authorship cannot be established with certainty. I will also share some thoughts about the historicity of the events described in the three passages analyzed.

A politically active Shi'ite cleric, Khomeini was an outspoken critic of the Shah of Iran's Western-influenced policies and was exiled to Iraq for 14 years before moving to France, where he continued his opposition. By January 1979, public anger with the Shah caused him to flee, and a month later Khomeini returned from exile. By April he had established a theocracy based on strict adherence to Islamic law, with the U.S. as Iran's greatest enemy.
With his support, students seized the U.S. embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days. In 1980, a dispute with Iraq became an eight-year holy war that cost the two countries more than one million lives. He remains a powerful symbol to Iranians even after his death in 1989. "Rarely has so improbable a leader shaken the world," said TIME in naming him Man of the Year for 1979. (1/7/80).

◽️ The Deep heartiest condolence on the threshold of Imam Mahdi (A.S) the real avenger of the blood of Imam Hussein (A.S), the promised, the expected one, to all free Muslim nations throughout the world, and specially to the all Shia, his real lovers, on such a most great unforgettable tragedy of the history. The day, which Imam Hussein (A.S) along with his seventy-two incomparable companions were martyred unjustly but were not defeated.
◽️ Sunday the 30th of August 2020 marks Ashura i.e. 10th of Muharam, the day of victory for Islam and Muslim. Chronically, the day of Ashura is commemorated by not only the Shia people but also free nations throughout the world as a day of mourning for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein Ibn-Ali (A.S), the grandson of Islam’s Prophet Mohammad(S) at the battle of Karbala. It especially mourns on the first ten days of Muharam, first month of Islamic calendar, and ends by the 10th day. Although the mourning continues through the whole month and into Safar till the eighth of Rabi-al-Aval, the third month in the Islamic calendar. Imam Hussein (A.S) is son of Imam Ali (A.S), the first Shia infallible Imam. His mother is Fatemeh (A.S), daughter of Holy Prophet Mohammad (S). His most famous title is Sayyed-al-Shuhada (i.e. Master of the Martyrs). There are nine infallible Imams from his generation that Imam Mahdi (A.S) is the last one, the twelfth infallible Imam of Shia people whom we are awaiting Him day and night, praying that May Almighty Allah hasten his graceful reappearance.
🔹 Merits of Imam Hussein (A.S)
The Holy Prophet (S) loved his two grandsons (Hassan and Hussein) tremendously. His holiness used to say: "Allah has ordered me to love and cherish these two for God supports those who befriend them." The Prophet's (S) companions and followers often heard him say: "Hassan and Hussein are masters, leading the people both in this world and in the Hereafter." The holy Prophet (S) described Imam Hussein (A.S) and Imam Hassan (A.S) in the following words: "Hassanain means Hassan and Hussein.
◽️ Sebtain means two sons of the Prophet (S), Sheblain means , two lions, Sayyedain means two masters or two chiefs. Raihanatain: Two fragrant flowers. Imamatain: Two leaders or Imams". His love for Hussein and Hassan (A.S) was so great that he used to say: "My Grandsons Hassan (A.S) and Hussein
(A.S) are the masters of the youth in paradise .

The five principal Shi’a pillars are Tawhid (the Oneness of God), Nubuwwah (Prophethood), Resurrection, Divine Justice and Imamah (belief in the political and spiritual supremacy of the Prophet’s successors). For the 10 ancillaries, the Shi’a faith includes Prayer, Fasting, Charity and Pilgrimage, but adds Khums (the tax of one-fifth), Enjoining what is Just, Forbidding what is Evil, Tawallá (loving what is Good) and Tabarra (disassociation with those who oppose Good and those who caused harm to Islam). Another ancillary in Shi’a Islam is Jihad, the meaning of which continues to be debated by Islamic scholars. Traditionally Jihad is composed of two elements: an inner struggle with oneself to maintain the way of God and an outer struggle against Islam’s enemies which can be either violent or non-violent.
The Shia Crescent
Most of Shi’a populations are found in Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Bahrain, and make up what’s called the ’Shia crescent’ because of the shape of these territories on a map.
🔷The Black Market
The dependants of Imam Ja'afer Sadiq (a.s.) had increased in number; so had his expenses. The Imam decided to invest some money in trade to meet the increased expenses of the house. He arranged for an amount of a thousand Dinars which he gave to his slave named 'Musadif' directing him to proceed to Egypt and to invest the amount in business on behalf of Imam.
Musadif purchased some goods usually exported to Egypt, and joined a Caravan of traders, who were taking the same type of merchandise to Egypt.
When they reached near Egypt, they met another Caravan coming out of the City. They enquired about each other's affairs. During the course of conversation, they learnt that the goods which Musadif and his friends were carrying were not available in Egypt and were in great demand there. They became very happy at their good fortune. Indeed that was an article of common use and people had to buy it at all costs.
The traders on hearing the good news decided to exploit the situation. They agreed together not to sell the goods less than one hundred percent profit.
They entered the city. The situation was same as they had been told. As previously agreed, they created a black market, and did not sell the goods any less than double its cost.
Musadif returned to Medina with a net profit of one thousand Dinars. Happy as he was he went to Imam Sadiq, and placed before him two bags, each containing one thousand Dinars. The Imam asked
"What is this?"
To which Musadif replied, “One of the two bags represents the capital you gave me, and the other one (which is equal to the capital) is the profit I have made"
Imam said, “Certainly the profit is unexpectedly high. Tell me how could you make so much profit?"
Musadif said, “The fact is when we learnt near Egypt that the merchandise we were carrying had become scarce there, we agreed NOT to sell the goods less than double its cost; and we did accordingly'."
Imam replied, "Glory be to God (from this mischief)! You did such a work? You took oath to create a black market among the Muslims?! You swore not to sell the goods less than double the actual cost??
No. I don't want such business and such profit'."
Then picking up one of the bags, he said, "This is my capital."
He did not even touch the other one, and said that he did not want to have any connection with that.
Then he said:
"O Musadif! It is easier to fight with a sword than to earn the livelihood lawfully."

GOD'S LAST APOSTLE, PROPHET MUHAMMED NAMES HIS SUCCESSOR (10 A.H./632 A.D.)
In 10 A.H./632 A.D., immediately following Hijjatul-Wada' (the Farewell Pilgrimage, the last pilgrimage performed by Prophet Mohammed), a divine order was revealed to the Prophet to convey the remaining Islamic tenets: the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and the Imamate of the Twelve Infallible Imams.
The Prophet called upon the faithful to accompany him on his last pilgrimage; he knew that it would be his last and that he would soon have to leave this temporary abode for the eternal one. More than one hundred and twenty thousand Muslims responded to his call.
(Here is explanation to some muslims accuse the Prophet of Islam of having neglected to name his successor, not knowing that he actually did exactly so in accordance with the Divine order which he had received on Dhul-Hijja 17, 10 A.H./March 18, 632 A.D., announcing the name of his successor the very next day, and here are the details)
The Prophet and his company put on the ihram garbs at the appropriate time at Masjid al-Shajara, a short distance from Mecca, his birthplace, which he entered on Dhul-Hijja 5, 10 A.H./March 6, 632 A.D. The Prophet's call reached Yemen where' Ali ibn Abu Talib was acting as his representative.
Twelve thousand Yemenite pilgrims came out headed by' Ali in response to the Prophet's call to accompany him on his historic Pilgrimage, bringing the total number of those early pilgrims to more than one hundred and thirty-two thousand.
The Islamic pilgrimage starts in the month of Thul-Hijja (month of the pilgrimage), the last Islamic lunar calendar month, and continues for at least ten days. First, each pilgrim dons a special garb called ihram; males' ihram consists of two white sheets or towels covering the upper and lower parts of the body, whereas females wear a full white cotton outfit, simple and modest.
This ihram reminds the pilgrim of his/her death and of the equality of all before God. All pilgrims perform the same rituals; none receives any favourable treatment or distinction on account of his status, power, or wealth. The pilgrimage starts by the tawaf the circling of the Ka'ba seven times. The Ka'bais identified in Islamic literature as an earthly counterpart to the Almighty's Throne (' Arsh) in heaven where the angels circle it in adoration. Likewise, in imitation of those angels, Muslim pilgrims circle the Ka'ba in adoration of their Lord.
The tawaf is followed by the sa'i: the pilgrims run back and forth seven times between the -Safa and the Marwa in commemoration of Hagar (Hajar), mother of Ishmael, frantically searching for water for her newborn son Ishmael. After that, the pilgrims drink of the well of Zamzam which had appeared miraculously for Hagar and Ishmael, wash with it or use it to make ablution for prayers at the Ka'ba; Zamzam is sacred for such an application.
Then the pilgrims leave Mecca for Muzdalifa, 'Arafa, and finally Mina to perform certain rites which fall outside the scope of this book which is intended to be a historical account of the Prophet of Islam, not one of fiqh. The author is a writer, a researcher, someone who, according to a friend of mine, "insists on finding out who the foundling's father is!" But he is not a faqih. Now let us go back to our original story after having cast a glimpse at the rite of the pilgrimage in Islam.
It was at' Arafa that the divine command was received by Prophet Muhammad to appoint 'Ali as "Ameerul-Mo'mineen," the Commander of the Faithful, title of the bearer of the highest temporal and religious powers in the Islamic State, one reserved solely for caliphs, those who are supposed to be the most knowledgeable of all people of secular and religious problems and of how to solve them.
Muhammad was also ordered to convey to' Ali the knowledge which the Almighty had bestowed upon him so that it would not be lost once he is dead. In Mina, the Prophet delivered two sermons in preparation of the great announcement to come.

Āyatollāh Mar’ashī Najafī رضوان الله عليه:
When I leave the house, I heartly ask from God that for the sake of one hundred twenty four thousand of His prophets to make me return home with faith. Because, it has been narrated in hadith from infallible Imāms that many times it would happen that a man may come out of the house with faith and return as an unbeliever (due to tense situations that may lead to falling in doubts).

How many words does the Arabic language have?
Any concrete answer to this is actually false! Arabic is much more flexible to have its vocabulary counted by the number of words.
There are “accurate” answers though about how many are there in different Ma`ajim (plural of Mu`jam, a collection of words organized and categorized by the alphabetic order) An “oh-so-specific-and-logical” answer that is more of an assumption to me is that Arabic has: between 100,000 (if you are so stingy), just a few millions (if you disregard all words not currently in usage), 12 million (one restrict rule) 90 million words and 500 million words!
All of these numbers are the results of linguistic queries conducted in the past. And the number varies depending on what do you count as a word.
So, why did I say we can never know? It’s because Arabic has a three-/four-/five-lettered root in the simplest past form, it has a meaning in itself like for example:
كَـتَـبَ KaTaBa (a=shwa, short vowel)
This verb means “wrote”, no indication of female, duality, plurality, direction of action or emphasize yet… This word can now generate at least 30 other meaningful words!
Just put that small root into DOZENS OF word scales/patterns to attach each root to a certain scale/pattern which in itself implies a specific kind of word).
What on Earth does that even mean?
Let’s take KaTaBa and implement it into a dozen of different scales:
×You can create several verbs simply meaning to write, but in different tenses and doers: كَتبتَ، كَتَبَتْ، كتبتي، كتبتم، كتبتما، كتبتن، يكتبون تكتبن
But literally, that’s not even half of the possible words (they’re all distinct from one another, and accurate to the letter! So if use one of them, it won’t be confused with another. There’s no redundancy of different versions of one verb, each variation serves a certain purpose, it can reflect a different gender, being singular or plural, being in the past, present, future or more, etc. )
× A dozen of nouns and adjectives:
1- doer = [KaTeB] = كاتب = writer (Scale: فاعِل - Fa3el)
2- object = [maKToB] = مكتوب = written/message (Scale: مَفعول - maF3ool)
3- different object = [KeTaab] = كِتاب = book (Scale: فِعال - Fe3aal)
4- another object = [maKTaBah] = مكتبة = library (Scale: maF3aLah)
Additionally: كُتاب، مَكتَب، إكّتِتاب، مُكاتبة، كُتَيّب ….. It DOESN’T stop any time soon, all kinds of words related to writing you can imagine can somehow all be expressed using a three-sound/three-letter -root, put in so many shapes and forms!
So, there is no correct answer, as a lot of words can be put in any scale and give a lot of grammatically correct words, while each word can be never or rarely used locally… It would still be a valid and comprehensible word.
Example: كَتُوب [KaTooB] - this word would mean someone who writes a lot, I don’t remember reading it before, but I doubt anyone who knows proper Arabic would find it difficult to understand what it means.
The other problem is when people count from معاجم [Ma`ajim], it’s not like that collection of all words in a language… Arabic got super changed, yet remained untouched, meaning the the Standard Arabic is still almost the same, yet the different local Arabic dialects Also were born, having simpler vocabulary yet more modern and has more borrowed and Arabized words!
The correct answer: You can barely count how many scales are there, then you’ll have to count how many roots are there, the multiplication of the two will give you only the maximum possible words from known roots, it’s 100% not accurate, because not all of them are used (although they all have meanings and can be used!)
And also a lot of words don’t count (for being too similar to another word) or get counted twice in two close case (because the word for the two boys lived is different from the word for a group of women or a gendered human name/adj. or an animal, etc.!

«أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْه»
«اللَّهُمَّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَةَ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِين»
❤9- In the nights of twenty first and twenty third recite these Suras: Ankaboot, Dukhan, Rome
❤10- In the night of twenty third recite this doa in any state you are

‘He who leads a blind man forty steps on level ground, even if he was to be rewarded the whole world’s worth of gold, it would not be enough to recompense a needle’s worth of what that act deserves. And if there is a danger on the path which he averts him from, he will find that act on the Day of Resurrection within his balance of good deeds, larger than one hundred thousand times the expanse of the earth.’

اعمال ليلة القدر/شب قدر
❤1- Religious Shower (Ghusl)
❤2- Staying awake in night
❤3- Two rak'at prayer with Surah Hamd and seven times Surah Ikhlaas.
After prayer seventy times (أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَ أَتُوبُ إِلَيْه)
❤4- Ziyarat-e Imam Husain (peace be with him)
❤5- Open Qor'an in front and read this doa
اللَّهُمَ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِكِتَابِكَ الْمُنْزَلِ وَ مَا فِيهِ، وَ فِيهِ اسْمُكَ الْأَعْظَمُ الْأَكْبَرُ، وَ أَسْمَاؤُكَ الْحُسْنَى، وَ مَا يُخَافُ وَ يُرْجَى، أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّار
Then ask from God whatever you want to ask
❤6- Doa-e Joshan e Kabir
❤7- Hold Qor'an on the head and recite this doa
اللَّهُمَّ بِحَقِّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَ بِحَقِّ مَنْ أَرْسَلْتَهُ بِهِ، وَ بِحَقِّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مَدَحْتَهُ فِيهِ، وَ بِحَقِّكَ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَلَا أَحَدَ أَعْرَفُ بِحَقِّكَ مِنْكَ
After reciting above doa recite these names of Allah, Prophet and his progeny Ahlulbayt (peace with them) each ten times.

THE BLACK MARKET
The dependants of Imam Ja,far Sadiq (peace be with him) had increased in number; so had his expenses. The Imam decided to invest some money in trade to meet the increased expenses of the house. He arranged for an amount of thousand Dinars which he gave to his slave named 'Musadif' directing him to proceed to Egypt and to invest the amount in business on behalf of Imam.
Musadif purchased some goods usually exported to Egypt, and joined a Caravan of traders, who were taking the same type of merchandise to Egypt.
When they reached near Egypt, they met another Caravan coming out of the City. They enquired about each other's affairs. During the course of conversation, they learnt that the goods which Musadif and his friends were carrying were not available in Egypt and were in great demand there. They became very happy at their good fortune. Indeed that was an article of common use and people had to buy it at all costs.
The traders on hearing the good news decided to exploit the situation.They agreed together not to sell the goods at less than hundred percent profit. They entered the city.
The situation was same as they had been told. As previously agreed, they created a black market, and did not sell the goods at less than double the cost.
Musadif returned to Medina with a net profit of one thousand Dinars. Happy as he was he went to Imam Sadiq, and placed before him two bags, each containing one thousand Dinars.
The Imam asked "What is this?" "One of the two bags represents the capital you gave me, and the other one (which is equal to the capital) is the profit I have made" "Certainly the profit is unexpectedly high.
Tell me how could you make so much profit?" "The fact is when we learnt near Egypt that the merchandise we were carrying had become scarce there, we agreed not to sell the goods at less than double the cost; and we did accordingly'."
"Glory be to God! You did such a work! You took oath to create a black market among the Muslims! You swore not to sell the goods at less than double the actual cost! No. I don't want such business and such profit'."
Then picking up one of the bags, he said, "This is my capital."He did not even touch the other one, and said that he did not want to have any connection with that.
Then he said: "O Musadif! It is easier to fight with a sword than to earn the livelihood lawfully."
