Archbishop Cesare Pasini, Prefect of the Vatican Library, announced the opening of the DigiVatLib, a shortening of digital Vatican Library. The Archbishop explained that over the last five years the Vatican Library has become involved in a vast undertaking to digitize the manuscripts belonging to its catalogue. Currently they have about 15,000 of their collection uploaded and ready to view. If they keep pace at 3,000 uploads per year, they should have the whole library of 80,000 manuscripts scanned by 2041. پایتخت ایرلند خاستگاه بهترین مجموعه نسخ خطی اسلامی در غرب و شاید در جهان می‌باشد. کتابخانه چستر بیتی در سال 1957 میلادی در دوبلین افتتاح شد و در سال 2000 میلادی به مکان فعلی واقع در برج ساعت دوبلین منتقل شده است. در این کتابخانه علاوه بر 20000 جلد کتاب و نسخه خطی و پیمان‌نامه، حدود 6000 مورد از عجیب‌ترین و زیباترین مصنوعات اسلامی نیز گردآوری شده است. همچنین 270 نسخه کامل یا تقطیع‌شده از قرآن که متعلق به قرن هشتم میلادی و با فاصله صد سال از دوران زندگی حضرت محمد صلی الله علیه و آله می‌باشد نیز در این کتابخانه وجود دارد...

Ireland’s capital city is home to quite possibly the finest collection of Islamic manuscripts in the western hemisphere, if not the entire world.
The Chester Beatty Library was first opened in a large building in a wealthy suburb of Dublin in 1957, and moved to its current location inside the 18th century Clock Tower of Dublin Castle in February 2000.
Amongst the 20,000 books, manuscripts and scrolls, the multi-millionaire businessman amassed 6,000 items of the rarest and most beautiful Islamic artefacts on earth.
